- Our goal is to provide an approved Anger Management court certificate using the most effective techniques and at a low cost. Below are the two options:
The Basis of the Anger Management Course
The main therapy is Cognitive Principle Therapy. It works on principles rather than behaviour and can quickly change anger into calmness using a special technique. This means that the anger management course creates the same outcomes in 4 hours of counselling, compared to 6-10 hours for conventional courses which use cognitive behaviour therapy.
CPT is based on 4 key principles, namely, Trust, Respect, Acceptance, and Commitment. It has adapted Polyvagal Theory into a therapy specifically to control anger. The polyvagal theory states that there are three nerves in the body, namely the Sympathetic [Fight-Anger and Flight -Fear] and Parasympathetic nerves, comprising the Dorsal vagus [Freeze -Sadness] and Ventral vagus [Calm-Happy].
Most anger issues are caused by people losing respect for themselves or others and trying to force respect with anger.
How does it work
all related to principles. There are 49 principles in the therapy model
Step One
Understand the client’s presenting issue and identify the weakened principle/s. Listen to the client with trust, respect, acceptance and
commitment.
Step Two
Provide a theoretical solution to the client and through dialogue, arrive at a consensus about the underlying
issue, which will be a
weakened principle.
Step Three
Provide practical actionable
tools to correct the underlying
problem and address
the presenting issue.
